  22.   Anyway, the problem is most likely in the power section of the 1541 
  23. motherboard.  Not the power supply itself, but the motherboard.  Looking at 
  24. the open drive from the front, in the back right corner you will see two 
  25. squarish upright black things labeled cr1 and cr 3.  One of these is your 
  26. most likely source of the problem.  It is also possible but not probable 
  27. that one of your capacitors has blown.  They are located right in front of 
  28. the items described above.  The first thing to check for is a cold solder 
  29. joint on the black upright squares described above.  Just take a iron and 
  30. remelt the solder around the four legs of these items.  You should also look 
  31. for heat and burn marks as telltale signs of defective parts.  I won't get 
  32. into any chips it may be as the above should be the correct fix.
